Pseudo-static modules designed for the older PowerBook 100, 140, 145 and 170 may work in the 160 & 180, but not without sacrificing performance.  The 160 & 180 operate without wait states.  When modules designed for the other PowerBooks are installed in the PowerBook 160 or 180, additional wait states are added, which means that performance is being sacrificed.  Newer Technology modules do not add wait states.  (See Newer Technology freeware "Nightmare on PowerBook Street" to detect the problem described above.  This freeware program is available on most on-line services).
